Julie Smith

A multi-skilled operations specialist with experience as a service manager, a project manager and an office manager in the Training, IT and Financial sectors.

Julie joined our business in 2002. She is now responsible for the co-ordination of the team in our office, managing our financial operations, and providing support for our programmes and events and our client marketing initiatives.

As in many entrepreneurial businesses we need a central discipline for our systems and although much of her work is behind the scenes Julie has created this necessary "hub" for our operations. She brings a commitment and dedication to getting things right and a passion for improving the interface between our administration function and those of our clients and associates.

Julie has experience of working within both large and small organisations, within teams and at director level. Her early career involved 20 years within Retail Sales for Barclays Bank, during this time she was responsible for sales teams, merchandising & customer care and retention. Her last position with Barclays was as Project Co-ordinator for pilot schemes. A move to the West Country in 1999 involved new challenges as Julie joined an internet based business specializing in development and design of web based cataloguing and content management. During this time Julie was responsible for client liaison, team recruitment and development and the operational function of their Swindon office. Before joining ChangeMaker, Julie worked as office manager for a business involved in software development, training and consultancy, managing client liaison and progress monitoring.

She lives on the edge of the Wiltshire Downs with her husband and two daughters, and rides her bike to the top of Whitehorse Hill every morning. Or so she tells us!
