Cath Murphy
A highly commercial, international HR consultant experienced in leading and facilitating major business transformations with a 25 year background of Strategic HR, Leadership & Organisation Development and coaching in a range of global blue-chip companies.
Cath's career as an international HR professional meant she took responsibility for the complete range of HR functions in various organisations. This gives her a deep understanding of the functional needs but also means she has a clear view of the role that HR needs to play and the strategic value that results from the consideration of the people issues at the highest level.
As an HR consultant her talent lies in being able to balance the people issues with the business imperatives. As an executive coach her experience of working as a board member of large global organisations means she has no qualms in supporting or challenging the most senior executives.

Cath's HR career started with 11 years at NCR Ltd, performing a variety of roles in the UK and America. As Divisional Director Education she led a large, multi-million dollar Training and Development Centre for the UK and International. She gained wider global experience when she joined Galileo International as SVP Human Resources, helping the company grow from a start up to near billion dollar business. Based out of Chicago she provided strategic people leadership for the merger of two major industry players to create the world's largest travel CRS business. Cath has also worked for American Express and for Dun & Bradstreet in the role of VP HR Europe. Her strategic contribution was to lead major organisation change, successfully moving from country based organisations to global functional/matrixed business models. In addition to extensive organisation redesign, re-engineering and outsourcing she has wide-ranging experience in European mergers, acquisitions and divestitures including the sale of their retail banking business when working for Lehman Brothers investment bank. A key component of all these projects was how to engage, retain and motivate all staff to create effective, sustainable change. Engagement surveys were a key tool, (across up to 23 countries and 19,000 staff) to identify issues, focus the leadership on people priorities and lift engagement and satisfaction to exceptional levels.
To complement this practical experience and to support her competence as a consultant Cath has developed her practical experience and also broadened her knowledge and skill base by studying a variety of approaches including NLP and Transactional Analysis, earning an International Coaching Federation qualification and being certified in a number of the globally researched Lominger Architect tools.
When not working Cath is usually found in the mountains, hiking, skiing or enjoying all things French.
